Engineered with the flexibility of positioning anywhere in a room, to fire at a precise 45° angle, the Quarter Wave employs a dual vented rear horn to produce clean, tight bass with the signature Lowther clarity.
There is a profound beauty in natural sound - in hearing an artist's intention in every note, unaltered and true. The Acousta Quarter Wave embodies this philosophy while answering a question we've contemplated for decades: What if this acoustic purity could be achieved without speakers becoming the focal point of your living space?
Engineered with the flexibility of positioning anywhere in a room, to fire at a precise 45° angle, the Quarter Wave employs a dual vented rear horn to produce clean, tight bass with the signature Lowther clarity. This ingenious design allows these remarkable instruments to integrate unobtrusively into your living environment - placed behind furnishings while still delivering uncompromised high-fidelity reproduction.
The Acousta Quarter Wave represents acoustic architecture at its most refined - where technical excellence meets aesthetic discretion. Experience your cherished recordings as they were intended to be heard, from an instrument that complements rather than dominates your living space.
The PM7A
The PM6A (with Voigt's whizzer cone design) produces a wide dispersion and an airy, spacious soundstage. Combined with the alnico magnet, the Voigt folded spatial diaphragm reproduces music with a detailed yet balanced midrange and tight, well-controlled bass.
The PM6A offers an authentic musical listening experience, perfectly showcasing jazz, classical and acoustic recordings with its clean, natural timbre and ability to resolve fine inner details. The end result is an engaging yet uncoloured presentation that gets out of the way so the music can shine through.

Front facing Voigt horn
The Voigt horn plays a key role in extending the Lowther Acousta's frequency response down into the bass region, while maintaining a high standard of clarity, precision and blend with the rest of the frequency range.
The horn flares at the front and aims to provide a natural, unfatiguing low frequency response that blends seamlessly and reinforces (rather than overwhelm) the midrange.

The craftsmanship and care that goes into each Lowther Acousta loudspeaker sets them apart. Every driver, cone, magnet, and part that comprises an Acousta design is meticulously handmade by veteran artisans at Lowther's UK facility. Skilled hands cut each component to precise specifications, assembling drivers by hand and fine-tuning each loudspeaker to yield the highest performance. The result is a loudspeaker unlike any other - a truly unique and personal creation that has been inspected, tested, and verified to work in perfect harmony.
The human touch inherent to the Acousta's manufacture imbues each pair of speakers with an authenticity and warmth that cannot be replicated by machine. From the very first prototypes in the 1950s to today's latest models, Lowther craftspeople ensure that every Acousta remains true to Peter Lowther's, Paul Voigt's and Donald Chave's original vision of the highest possible musical fidelity attainable.
